Continuous Vertical Conveyors (CVC) NERAK's Continuous Vertical Conveyors are designed to convey product in very high capacity between two levels, up or down, on a minimum footprint. Our CVC's are a space saving alternative to spiral or inclined conveyors.
A standard Screw Conveyor inclined 15° upward will carry 75% of its rated horizontal capacity. At an inclination of 25°, a standard conveyor may only handle 50% of its horizontal capacity. These are estimated figures and will vary with the characteristic of the material being handled.
A screw in the horizontal is a conveyor or feeder, but as a screw is inclined it very quickly becomes a lift or pump. All of the charts & formulas for calculating speed and capacity for a screw, in the horizontal are no longer applicable, what now comes into play is product knowledge and experience for sizing and calculating speed and horse power for incline and vertical screws.
Above 45 degrees an inclined screw conveyor is considered a vertical screw conveyor and must be designed in accordance with the CEMA guidelines for vertical screw conveyors. As the degree of incline increases, conveying efficiency is reduced and horsepower requirements increase due to the effects of gravity and bulk material fall back.

Vertical conveyors can be used on many different materials, including wet, sticky dewatered biosolids. The compact design of the vertical screw conveyor has no return parts, like a belt conveyor. Therefore, one significant advantage is the limited size of the footprint. They can be installed into very tight spaces; typically with the drive able ...

Salient Features: Useful in applications where the load is to be conveyed under controlled conditions.
Inclined Screw Conveyors. Inclined screw conveyors typically operate from slightly above the horizontal position to 45-degrees from the horizontal position. Above 45-degrees an inclined screw conveyor is considered a vertical screw conveyor and must be designed in accordance with the CEMA guidelines for vertical screw conveyors.
Conveyors are used for: Movement of materials, products and loads throughout a manufacturing or distribution facility, conveyors are horizontal, inclined or vertical devices. Product transport is powered by gravity or by hydraulic or electric power. Loads ride atop roller or a belt that travels along a fixed path with specific points for loading and discharge.
